Nickel Plating Processes

Nickel plating chemicals and electroless nickel plating chemicals are available in bright, ultra bright, and semi bright. EPI was the first to manufacture a bright leveling single-additive nickel plating process. To order Nickel Plating from EPI call 262-786-9330 or fill out our online request form. Example of nickel platingE-Brite 757 — Bright Nickel Plating

E-Brite 757
will produce highly ductile deposits which are free from laminations. It produces brilliant, white deposits of high clarity, reflectivity and depth. The deposit is active and can be chromium plated if specified. This nickel plating porcess can be used in barrel applications as well as cathode rod and air agitated rack installations.

It is a process that plates faster with more coverage in the low current density area. It produces 20 to 30% more nickel thickness in the lower current density area than any other nickel system. Therefore, you also get better chrome coverage in the low current density than any other nickel process.

Because it is a single maintenance additive process, E-Brite 757 eliminates plating variations common with multi-additive bright nickel processes. There will be less of a chance for operator-caused imbalance of brighteners and additives. Can also be used as a conventional index system with a separate carrier, brightener, indexer and leveler.

E-Brite 787 — Ultra-bright, Ultra-fast leveling nickel plating.

E-Brite 787 is an outstanding high performance, single maintenance additive, bright decorative nickel plating process. It is formulated to produce exceptional leveling with an extremely bright, thin nickel deposit. E-Brite 787 is a single additive maintenance brightener process which eliminates operator caused imbalances of brightener and additives.

It is used in applications requiring outstanding appearance with minimum thickness of applied nickel plating. It can also be used for heavy deposit applications because it exhibits unparalleled ductility and low stress. The process works well in both rack and barrel installations and produces white deposits which are ideal in barrel applications. It exhibits excellent chrome receptivity. It has an exceptional low current density bright range. The E-Brite process is exceptionally tolerant to zinc and copper contamination. A special zinc tolerant addition system does not need to be used when plating zinc die castings.

E-Brite 700 SB — A semi-bright sulfur-free plate for duplex nickel plating.

The E-Brite 700 SB produces a deposit with a high degree of leveling and ductility plus a low electro-negative potential: 120-180mVolt (step value). The E-Brite 700 SB passes Chrysler ductility test and ASTM B-490-92 bend and ductility test. The E-Brite 700 SB produces less breakdown product which means less frequent carbon treatment. In most cases only one additive for maintenance is necessary after make up.

E-Brite 704 MP

Microporous nickel plating process that increases the corrosion resistance of the nickel-chrome plate by depositing a thin nickel deposit that has a specific amount of non conductive particles, resulting in a microporous chrome plate.

Electroless Nickel Plating

High Phosphorus Electroless Nickel Plating Process

E-EN 600, a high phos electroless nickel plating processthat produces a semi-bright electroless nickel system that exceeds most competitive EN processes because of overall corrosion resistance, plate rate consistency, smoothness and stability.

The E-EN 600 process meets MIL 26074-B,AMS-2404 B, and AMS 2405 specifications. E-EN 600 is compliant with the End of Life of Vehicle (ELV), RoHS, and WEEE initiatives.

E-EN 600 produces consistent pit-free smooth and stain resistant deposits. The process has an excellent break in period, exceptional stability and self regulating pH option.

Mid Phosphorus Electroless Nickel Plating Process

E-EN 602, a mid phos electoless nickel plating process that produces bright mid phosphorus deposits that meet or exceed the standard lead/cadmium medium phosphorus EN baths. Exceptional brightness during the entire bath life and MTO on aluminum is one of its many benefits.

The E-EN 602 process meets MIL 26074B, AMS-2404 B, and AMS 2405 specifications and is in compliance with End of Life of Vehicle (ELV), RoHS, and WEEE initiatives.

E-EN 602 process produces consistent pit-free smooth deposits without lead and cadmium. The process has exceptional stability, consistent plating rates, high tolerance to impurities, and a 1:1 replenishment addition.

Unlike other conventional lead/cadmium based mid phos EN baths the E-EN 602 will maintain its brightness throughout its bath life while most conventional baths will lose their brightness.
